Last year, I experienced a miscarriage. It was one of the loneliest seasons of my life. I had support, but even in the presence of love, I felt alone. Grief has a way of isolating you, and what I needed most wasn’t a solution. It was connection.
That’s part of why I’m doing this. As a portrait photographer in Charlotte, I wanted to find connection in the best way I know, through art. It began with The NOVA Project, a portrait and storytelling series honoring mothers who’ve experienced pregnancy or Infant loss.
But it’s more than that.
I’ve lived in Charlotte for a couple of years now, and while building true community takes time, connection is who I am at my core. I want to not only meet more women in this city. I want to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
If you're a Queen in this Queen City and your crown has slipped a bit, this is your invitation to fix it, alongside women who won't let you forget who the hell you are.
